Abstract
The deposition of sub- and monolayer amounts of silver on platinum has been studied using the rotating ring-disk electrode in 0.2 M H2SO4-2.00 × 10-5 M Ag(I). Silver does not deposit on a fully oxidized platinum surface. Two monolayers of silver will deposit on a reduced platinum surface over a range of potential positive with respect to the equilibrium Nernst potential.
