Abstract

A special type of vibration transducer (pseudo-actuator) developed by the authors, and the corresponding Vandermonde (mass-added) testing by using this new type of transducers, are discussed in this paper. The pseudo-actuator can measure both the acceleration and the reacting force applied to the structure so that a Vandermonde testing is possible. Experimental measurement of the model energy-transfer-ratio (ETR) by using the pseudo-actuator is carried out and reported. Other advantages of this special transducer are also given.
