Abstract

Semiconductor-doped glasses have been studied recently as a potential nonlinear material for tiltrafast optical signal processing and bistability. Roussignol et al recently reported darkening of the glass samples after laser irradiation1. This modification was believed to be responsible for reducing the nonlinearity response time from as to the ps regime.
