Cells from the intramolluscan stage of Schistosoma mansoni were observed to contain 24 chromosomes. Karyotype and C-band analysis of these cells showed that the chromosomes consisted of 3 complete sets of 8 haploid chromosomes. It was concluded that these cells are triploid (3n).
