The Tragedy and Triumph of Place: Building From the Global Movement for Public Space and Placemaking

Our civilization is fundamentally built up from our shared spaces. Yet in recent decades, the demise of our public spaces is at the root of several societal crises. We are struggling to respond to these crises, as public space and the process of its improvement have fallen between the cracks of disciplines, research silos, and sectors. Leading change through maximizing our shared spaces can both disrupt and pull together the divergence and divides of modern society.
