The Theory of Stable Minimal Partial Realizations: The Scalar Case

Abstract

The a priori knowledge of the stability of a system, whose partial impulse response is given, is used to obtain a stable partial realization, of minimal order in the class of stable systems. Bounds are derived on the order of this stability constrained realization using an algebraic geometric approach.
