Abstract
A separable approximation to the two-nucleon t-matrix which includes some of the effects of the tensor force is derived. This approximation is found to be equivalent to using the Yamaguchi tensor potential. It is shown that the introduction of the operators of the permutation group S3 into the Faddeev equations simplifies the handling of these equations. Taking advantage of this simplification, the Faddeev equations are then reduced to their simplest form using the separable approximation for the tensor force.
