Abstract

Since 2009, China's high-speed railway has rapidly completed the construction of 'eight vertical and eight horizontal' high-speed railway network within a decade, and the sharp reduction in the time cost of railway passenger transport has had a profound impact on the export trade of cities along the line. Against this background, based on the panel data of commodity trade and export volume of44 prefecture-level cities in 3 provinces of eastern and central China from 2010 to 2018, this paper uses the double difference method (DID) to set the difference variable of high-speed rail and calculate the railway passenger transport accessibility of the sample cities. Multiple regression model is used to analyze the impact of high-speed railway opening on the export volume of cities along the line in different regions. The results show that the opening of high-speed railway can promote the growth of export trade, but the impact on the export trade of different regions is different. According to this conclusion, some relevant policy Suggestions are given.
