The global futures debate 1965-1976.

The participants in the futures debate of the last 12 yr have ranged widely in their approach, bias, methods, and use of teminology. All the writers share concerns very similar to those of the classical economists of 150-200 yr ago. Like them, today's futurologists all calculate that world economic and population growth must eventually stop, but they differ about the desirable pattern of a stabilised world. -K.Clayton
