Abstract

The surface-sheath nucleation field Hc3 in Pb-0.25% Bi alloy, a clean strong-coupling type-I superconductor, has been measured from 1.7°K to near Tc (7.2°K). The data allowed a direct determination of the slope (dHc3dT)Tc which, along with the temperature dependence of Hc3 near Tc, is compared with results predicted by recent theories
