Abstract

Equitably engaging all diverse P-12 learners in computer science (CS) requires teachers committed to ongoing learning. As teachers develop equitable praxis, the systems that support career-long learning journeys must also evolve, responding to changes in teacher capacity and environments. Through our experiences in New York City's CS for All efforts, we present three examples of teachers and infrastructures moving toward more just CS education: 1) a multi-year learning ecosystem for in-service teachers; 2) an open-source resource that guides teachers through equity-focused theory and reflection toward praxis; and 3) an initiative to integrate computing into teacher education across a public university system.
