Superconductivity in interhalogen-doped fullerenes

Abstract

Interhalogen-doped fullerenes have been prepared by using iodine monochloride (ICI) as a dopant. SQUID magnetization measurements reveal signatures of superconductivity in these samples with a superconductive transition temperature above 60K. These new carbon-superconductors are stable in air.
