Abstract

X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and ion scattering spectroscopy results are presented for block copolymers of bisphenol A polycarbonate (BPAC)/poly(dimethylsiloxane) (DMS). Analysis of these results shows surface enrichment in the copolymer of the lower surface energy DMS segments over the range 25-65% DMS. Models are presented for the morphology of the top 50 A of the sample surface consisting of discrete regions of DMS and BPAC oriented perpendicular to the surface.
