Abstract
Provides a summary and introduction to five articles examining the interaction of psychological and pharmacological determinants of smoking, as presented in the Journal of Experimental Psychology: General. Those articles are as follows: "Nicotine Regulation in Heavy and Light Smokers", by Schachter (see record 1977-27407-001); "Effects of Urinary pH on Cigarette Smoking", by Schachter, Kozlowski, and Silverstein (see record 1977-27023-001); "Social Life, Cigarette Smoking, and Urinary pH", by Silverstein, Kozlowski, and Schachter (see record 1977-27025-001); "Effects of Stress on Cigarette Smoking and Urinary pH", by Schachter, Silverstein, Kozlowski, Herman, and Liebling (see record 1977-27022-001); and "Psychological and Pharmacological Explanations of Smoking Under Stress", by Schachter, Silverstein, and Perlick (see record 1977-27408-001).
