Abstract
This chapter provides an overview of a new media project in which high school students developed fantasy storyworlds with writing, digital cartography, and videogame design. A transmedia analysis of one student's videogame demo is detailed to provide educators with a meta-language for supporting students in new media exploration and project development. The chapter concludes with ways this particular world-building project involving videogame design can be adapted to support new student roles, practices, and projects in classrooms.
