Abstract

Modern methods of aseismic protection encourage use of connections capable to dissipate energy with little or no deformations. The present paper is a summary of studies of semi-rigid bolted connections integrated in structural frames, which can protect the structure in case of a seismic event and can be replaced if damaged during the event. The emphasis of this study is on a comprehensive experimental verification of structures using monotonic loadings and shaking table motion, and on the analytical modeling of connections.
