title = "Spacecraft proximity operations using ultra-wideband communication devices",
abstract = "Ultra-Wideband radio communication is a relatively new technology that can provide precision positioning measurements between two or more transceivers. Use of Ultra-Wideband sensors to provide relative position and attitude estimates for spacecraft proximity operations is proposed. Estimation of relative position and attitude from range measurements as well as phase interferometry measurements is presented. It is shown that a static estimator using nonlinear least-squares can provide sufficient attitude estimation accuracy for the case of docking a Visiting Vehicle to the International Space Station.",
