Abstract

Solvent abuse is a problem that has been recognized in adolescents with some frequency since 1960. Available data support the impression that abuse of inhalants is almost exclusively an adolescent phenomenon. Our recent experience suggests that solvent abuse is more common in adults than has been previously recognized and may be seen with small but significant frequency.
