Abstract
In this paper an alternative approach for implementing homomorphic systems is introduced and its capabilities investigated. A new entity called the differential cepstrum is defined. The technique for realizing the differential cepstrum avoids phase perplexities and possesses useful properties like shift-invariance and faster implementation, as compared to the realization of the conventional log-cepstrum. An example of a simple-echo removal process is illustrated using the proposed technique.
