title = "Self-assembly of metallic quantum dots",
abstract = "Experiments have shown that metallic quantum dots without a coherent lattice or lattice mismatch with the substrate can undergo ordering. Here we show that this ordering can arise due to electrostatic interactions within the system. We show that the contact potential induces repulsive charge clouds in the substrate. The size-dependent repulsion and van der Waal attraction lead to ordered nanoscale structures.",
