Abstract

In this paper, an overview of main sources of uncertainties in estimatingeld soil parameters and their quantication methods is presented. Available tools and techniques to propagate the uncertainties through the governing equations of geomechanics are discussed. This paper represents a progress report. The goal of this part of our work is to assess the in°uence of uncertainty in soil parameters on ground motions. Relevant simulations results are forthcoming.
