Scripting the Interactor: An Approach to VR Drama

Abstract

A study was performed on the process of building interactive drama with reference to, The Thing Growing, a virtual reality application. It was designed to engage the user in an emotional relationship with computer-controlled character in the context of a fictional narrative. The goal was to create an involving, subjective experience for audience that would encounter the application in an exhibition or museum context.
