Abstract

This research is aimed at providing insights to software publishers and academics on how best to deal with the important problem of software piracy by analyzing the differences in the ethical profiles of individuals subscribing to eastern and western cultures and examine their influence on piracy behavior. Also, the research studies the impact of educational or `deterrent' measures on piracy. The results of this study are relevant to both the US and the Indian software industry.
