Abstract

In multimedia communication area, to present high-resolution videos on small mobile devices is still a great challenge. The development of multimedia technique urges videos to support content aware resizing similar with images. In this paper, we present a robust seam carving technique to resize videos, which guarantees to cut the same contents according to motion estimation, which will cause neither jitter nor blur. The major benefits of our proposed seam carving resizing method are the low computational complexity and good retargeting performance. Low computation complexity, frames' residuals comparison and users' evaluations confirm the efficiency of our approach.
