Abstract
In many medical studies, longitudinal data are collected on each of a simple of patients. One objective in such studies often is to estimate and test a multivariete relationship from these repeated measures data. This paper illustrates the use of relatively unknown statistical methods and software for achieving this goal by relating a composite measure of low back pain to psychological mood. Assumptions required for the valid application of these methods are discussed and tested in the setting of this applied problem. Lower back pain was found to be significantly, but modestly, related to fatigue.
