Abstract

An expression is derived for the time required to transport a particle generated at a disk electrode to a concentric ring electrode. Experimental verification is given for the minimum transit time, e.g., the time required to transport a particle from the outermost edge of the disk electrode to the innermost edge of the ring electrode. If a disk electrode intermediate undergoes a homogeneous chemical reaction while it is transported to the ring electrode by convective diffusion, its half-life must be at least ~ 1O-2 sec for it to be detected at the ring electrode.
