Abstract

LD pumped Q-switched short crystal Nd:La3Ga5.5Nb0.5O14 laser was characterized in this study. Maximum average output power of 100 mW for 600 mW pump power was reached. Slope efficiency for Q-switched regime was about 21%. Minimum pulse duration about 15 ns was observed. Weak self-frequency doubling of laser output was also evident giving an evidence of strong nonlinear properties of La3Ga5.5Nb0.5O14 crystal.
