Abstract

The accurate estimation of the pullout capacity of adhesive anchor is critical for the seismic retrofit of unreinforced masonry (URM) structures. However, there is a lack of publicly available test data on the performance of these anchors, while a number of factors can influence this performance. This paper presents the results of an extensive experimental program involving confined and unconfined static pullout tests on adhesive anchors. A total of 78 anchors were installed on double and triple-wythe walls to investigate the influence the type and diameter of the anchor, the embedment length, and the distance from the closest crack. This paper summarizes the test results.
