Abstract

A laboratory sized X-ray projection microscope has been constructed. Both computed tomographic reconstructions, and real time stereo images can be produced with this instrument. The attracive features of the instrument are its use of a standard SEM to produce precisely positionable X-ray spots; the thin film vacuum window X-ray source which alloows the images to be taken in air; and the relatively rapid acquisition of enough two dimensional images to reconstruct accurate three dimensional views.
