Abstract
A steroid-protein conjugate, made by covalently linking the 21-hemisuccinate of deoxycorticosterone to bovine serum albumin, was used to actively immunize rats. When these rats were subsequently subjected to adrenal enucleation, uninephrectomy, and the provision of 1% sodium chloride as drinking solution, they did not develop adrenal regeneration hypertension.
