PRESTRESSED CONCRETE BEAM DESIGN.

Research output: Contribution to conference › Paper › peer-review

Abstract

For a prestressed concrete element in which the design is controlled by one cross section, the dimensions of the section and the prestressing parameters can be determined by a simple sequencing of operations. This paper describes the procedure for the design of a simply supported beam that can be easily extended to a continuous beam. The spreadsheet organization is described and complemented by an example. The moment diagram, the dimensions of the sections, along with the feasible range for positioning of the prestressing cable are shown graphically during the design process.
