Abstract

This special issue is meant to celebrate the lifetime achievements of J. Tinsley Oden (1936– 2023) in the course of his career. He is recognized by many as a pioneer in the field of computational mechanics, a term he coined himself early on, and as the founder of the Oden Institute for Computational Engineering and Sciences at The University of Texas at Austin.
