Abstract

The detection of concentric contours that monotonically degrade in each direction from the (single) source was analyzed. Static sensor nodes were deployed at random in the plane and each node sensed the field its vicinity. The mobile sensor node collected the sensed values of the field gradient from its neighbor along with their location. Analysis shows that the fraction of detected contours increases as the average node degree of static sensor network increases.
