Abstract

Measurement models from item response theory (IRT) (Embretson and Reise 2000) have been recently and increasingly applied to measures of addictive disorders such as alcohol use disorder (Keyes et al. 2011; Wu et al. 2009, and references therein), nicotine use disorder (Liu et al. 2012, and references therein), illicit drug use disorders (Saha et al. 2012; Wu et al. 2009, and references therein), and gambling behavior disorder (Sharp et al. 2012, and references therein).
