Abstract

The build-up and decay of band-tail excited photoluminescence (PL) in As2S3 glass was measured over 0-300 ps using picosecond laser jitterfree streak camera techniques. The maximum radiative rate is v1 ≈ 4 × 108 Hz. Nonradiative processes competing with v1 exhibit a T2-activated temperature dependence similar to the CW quantum efficiency. Different subsets of carriers appear to be involved in PL and photoinduced absorption.
