Abstract
The discharge charges, discharge pattern, discharge frequency and current pulse are measured from partial discharge (PD) inception to flashover. Two oil specimens with different aging degree are used, and its influence on flashover process over oil/paper interface is investigated in this experiment. The results indicate that the PD charges and PD frequency are small in inception stage, and PD happens in the crest of power frequency. The PD charges and PD frequency increase with the applied voltage rising, and PD occurs in the ascent block of power frequency. The PD charges significantly increase when the discharge develops to critical flashover stage, and the current pulse bursts. The PD inception voltage decreases to some extent in aged oil specimen. The oil aging degree exerts a great influence on PD charges and PD frequency in streamer development stage.
