Abstract

Endovascular management of all manner of neurovascular pathology has steadily progressed since the arrival of intraarterial detachable coils to the intravascular flow-diversion devices now in use. Classically, open surgical management of a vast array of pathology has included parent vessel occlusion as part of the treatment repertoire when appropriate. Endovascular vessel occlusion is also indicated as part of the treatment paradigm in appropriately selected patients.
