Optimization of a Pressure Swing Adsorption Cycle

Abstract

A relatively simple and efficient optimization scheme based on the existing optimization techniques is presented for the optimization of a pressure swing adsorption (PSA) cycle. A black-boxapproach is used to convert the complex physical process (PSA cycle) into a simple mathematical problem. Themethod uses an interior penalty function. The simplicity and flexibility of the method areillustrated by three examples.
