Abstract

Infrared transmission spectroscopy was used to study samples of GaP nanoparticles coated with different surfactants. The transmittance spectra for the samples exhibited strong absorption bands due to TO phonons and two surface optical (SO) phonon modes. Other observed features in the GaP samples were attributed to the two-phonon overtones and combination phonon bonds.
