Abstract

Printed reports from the 1980 Census of Population and Housing, selected special ones prepared from summary tape files, and the neighborhood statistics series are indexed in this paper. Part I lists and describes the reports, while Part II provides alphabetic subject access. The combining of information derived from various media (paper, magnetic tapes, and microfiche) makes this index unique. Data was compiled using dBASE II software. A brief discussion of the software and the file structure of the census index, and a short bibliography about dBASE II applications in libraries is offered. The author will forward a copy of the data in PC/MS DOS format to those requesting it, upon receipt of two double-sided, double-density disks.
