On confidence intervals of a common intraclass correlation coefficient

Abstract

This study presents a novel approach for the confidence interval estimation of a common intraclass correlation coefficient derived from several samples under unequal family sizes. This approach is developed using the concept of generalized pivots. Comparisons are made with a large sample procedure on the coverage probabilities.
