Abstract

Risk of a fatal or non-fatal injury is higher for workers in emergency medical services than for workers in other settings. While there are few studies exploring occupational safety in EMS, we examine the available literature and data, and highlight factors that contribute to the risk and occurrence of fatal and non-fatal injuries for EMS workers.
