Obesity in the United States: A Worrisome Epidemic

Abstract

Given that physicians are at the front lines of reversing obesity trends, it's useful to know the scope of the problem. Obesity rates disproportionately affect women and minorities, even among very young children. Though the environmental and cultural factors that influence obesity rates are complex, promoting less television watching is a useful starting point for activity promotion.
