Abstract

A two dimensional mathematical model of an intracranial artery (0.35cm diameter) was constructed. The interaction between the following blood and the vascular wall was modeled using the Immersed Boundary Method. This computational model can be used to investigate pressure distribution, shear rates, and the influence of stent characteristics (e.g., geometry and porosity) on the dynamics of the flow inside the aneurysm in addition to elucidation of stent vessel wall interaction.
