Abstract

Nasal polyposis represents a chronic inflammatory disease of the lateral wall of the nose and the anterior ethmoidal air cells. In the last decade, a truly significant effort has been made to understand the pathogenesis, growth, persistence, and recurrence of nasal polyps. Two textbooks have appeared within the last year exclusively devoted to nasal polyps and their epidemiology, pathogenesis, and treatment (1,2).
