Abstract

We report our experience with ICP (argon plasma emission spectrometry) analysis of CSF (cerebrospinal fluid) from 265 patients. The analysis requires no processing, uses one ml, and provides a result within two minutes. The ICP provides excellent results with the major elements in the study of human tissues. ICP has the advantages of multiple element analysis, minimal processing of fluid samples, and rapid simultaneous results.
