Abstract

This structured poster session brings together seven presentations from middle and low-income countries around the world. While research in the field of learning sciences provides some guidance as to how to design learning environments for transformative action, most of this research is conducted in economically wealthy parts of the world (United States, Europe, Australia). This session focuses on different approaches to critical pedagogy that lead to transformative action in unique cultural contexts across low and middle-income countries in the world. It also highlights the need for equitable partnership building between researchers, practitioners and community members that are engaged in transformative action.
