Abstract

Ring electrode shielding at a rotating ring-disk electrode (RRDE) provides a sensitive solid electrode technique for the study of micromolar solutions of electroactive materials. At micromolar levels, shielded ring electrode currents are free of nonconvectlve diffusion current complications which obscure faradaic rotating disk electrode currents. Ag(I), Bi(III), Cu(II), Fe(III) and mixtures of Ag(I) and Cu(II) can be determined in the concentration range 0.1 to 10X10-6 M.
