Abstract
This chapter describes microextraction methodologies that conveniently integrate sampling and extraction procedures for the analysis of organic compounds from tissues and liquid samples. Various geometries of microextraction devices are described together with the advantages that each of these configurations brings specific sampling approaches. Emphasis is also given to extraction materials and biocompatible binders that enable direct contact of the sampling devices with complex samples avoiding the occurrence of biofouling.
