N2 - Communities today have a complicated structure, in which various infrastructures overlap and depend on each other. Infrastructures have a certain degree of interdependency at different levels: national, regional, local, etc. This is highlighted when the community is subject to a shock (earthquakes, hurricanes, floods, etc.). Measuring the degree of interdependency is crucial to take appropriate actions on various infrastructures before, during and after the event, in order to minimize the loss of functionality of the various infrastructure networks, thereby reducing severe social and economic losses and optimizing the interventions on the existing infrastructures. In this article we use time series analysis based on cross-correlation functions as a tool for the evaluation of the degree of interdependency at the infrastructure level, on the basis of data provided from the restoration curves of power, natural gas and water supply networks in different regions of Japan after March 11th, 2011 earthquake in Japan.
